Our Favourite Things About Alustra® Architectural Roller Shades

Exclusive, Designer Fabrics

What sets Alustra Architectural Roller Shades apart is their beautifully textured materials, available only within the Alustra line. These fabrics are curated for interior designers and homeowners seeking something truly elevated.

Expect options including:

  • Luxurious woven textures

  • Linen-inspired materials

  • Matte, metallic, and dimensional fibers

  • Fine, architectural weaves

  • Soft neutrals and modern designer tones

The fabrics are engineered to add depth and sophistication to the room, functioning like soft furnishings rather than typical window shades.

Dual-Layer Design for Refined Light Control

These shades feature a unique architectural construction:

  • A premium front fabric layer designed for style and texture

  • A separate backing layer that enhances light control, stability, and uniformity

This layered approach improves light diffusion, creates a smoother appearance, and enhances the overall luxurious feel of the shade when viewed from inside or outside.

Choose from:

  • Sheer fabrics for softened light

  • Light-filtering options for comfortable daylight

  • Room-darkening materials for privacy and glare control

Frequently Asked Questions About Alustra® Architectural Shades

Before measuring, consider whether you want an inside or outside mounted window treatment. If inside, you’ll need to make sure your window is square by measuring horizontally at the top, center and bottom, vertically along both sides and center, and diagonally. Also measure the frame depth and take into account any window hardware that might obstruct the window treatment.

The final measure we will do for you to ensure a perfect fit.

Horizontal Application:

  • Width: 20 in. – 90 in.
  • Height: 16 in. – 120 in.

To ensure your window treatments fit perfectly and function properly, we recommend leaving installing to a Hunter Douglas expert.

There are many moving parts in any shade.  To ensure you have the right parts to fix your problem, contact us.  Our experience will guide you through the process with peace of mind.

Hunter Douglas offers a Lifetime Limited Warranty, which covers the following:

  • All internal mechanisms.
  • Components and brackets.
  • Fabric delamination.
  • Operational cords for a full 7 years from the date of purchase.

  • Hunter Douglas motorization components are covered for 5 years from the date of purchase.

A regular, light dusting will help keep your Alustra Architectural Roller Shades looking like new. You can also try:

  • Vacuuming. For deeper cleaning, vacuum gently with a brush attachment of any vacuum cleaner.
  • Compressed air or hair dryer (non-heat setting). Use to blow dust off your shades.
  • Spot-cleaning. Spot-clean shades with a soft cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water. Add mild detergent if needed. Blot gently to avoid creasing or damaging the fabric. Rubbing can damage fabrics. Spot-cleaning may result in cleaner areas.
